Here at Grace we take great joy in reading and we are very blessed to have a library with over 18,000 books. We are one of the only private schools in North County who has a functioning library and a full time Librarian.
Meet Mrs. Shirley Graham; not only is Mrs. Graham readily available with an infinite knowledge of what kids like to read, her love of reading is downright contagious. Through more than 16 years of experience with our young readers, she keeps our library ship shape and updated with the latest and greatest series and volumes.
We use the Accelerated Reader program (AR) as part of our curriculum to help students establish firm, healthy reading habits. Since not all reading skills develop at the same time, we take extra care to work with students who need individualized help with reading abilities, comprehension and retention. Our graduates consistently show significantly advanced reading skills. Our library also has a number Kindle electronic readers that students may check out. We encourage the use of personal e-reader devices.
