BA California State University Chico
Mary Beth Mora grew up in Escondido, and graduated from Orange Glen High School. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and a Clear California Teaching Credential from Cal State University, Chico. During her final year at Chico, she met her soon to be husband, Tony. After completing her student teaching, she and Tony decided to get married and move back to Escondido to be near Mary Beth’s family. She and her husband purchased their home in Julian in 2000, where they preside with their two Alaskan Malamute dogs. They worship at Hillside Community Church of Julian.
In 1996, Mary Beth took on a long term first grade teaching position at Light and Life Christian School. The following year, she was asked to join the Light and Life family full time as a first grade teacher. When God closed the doors to Light and Life, he opened a bigger door with the merge of Grace Lutheran and Light and Life. Mary Beth continued her teaching career with first grade at Grace Christian School in 2015.
One of Mary Beth’s favorite things about working with first graders is watching her students become readers. It is always an amazing experience!
She is an enthusiastic teacher and this transcends to her students. It is her desire that she is successful in inspiring and motivating her students. She actively engages their eager minds by incorporating a variety of manipulatives, enjoyable games, technology, and cooperative learning projects. In addition she tailors her lessons to meet the needs within her classroom. She considers it an honor and a calling to teach at a Christian school. It is a pleasure to witness God’s hand in the spiritual growth of her young students.
